About Rhino Ridge
Rhino Ridge is a charming family-run Game Farm built upon a passion for nature and the great outdoors. Nestled in the heart of eastern Namibia, its 3,400 hectares are uniquely shaped by the red sand dunes of the Kalahari Desert, which contrast with the vibrant greens of the mixed tree and shrub savannah. The farm is home to more than 30 species of plains game, including giraffes, zebras, elands, black wildebeests, ostriches, and kudus. Additionally, although they are a rarer sight, guests may also have the opportunity to encounter nocturnal species such as aardvarks, leopards, hyenas, and pangolin.
Another pillar of our philosophy is the empowerment of the communities living in the Omaheke region. Our team and their families have resided on the farm for generations, which has made them true experts on the diverse nature of the surrounding landscape and its inhabitants. They are always eager and happy to share their valuable knowledge and insights with you during game drives or tracking expeditions.
Our aim is to allow our guests to immerse themselves in the vastness and wildness of the Kalahari in an unfiltered way. Everything at Rhino Ridge, from the thoughtful structure of the buildings to the smallest decorative accents, has been designed and crafted by us to reflect the beauty of our surroundings. By catering specifically to small groups, we ensure that each visitor's experience is exclusive, unrestricted, and uniquely personalized—providing the perfect antidote to the often impersonal nature of mass tourism.
We look forward to welcoming you to the heart of the Kalahari.
Location
Home is where the heart is
Rhino Ridge is situated in the Omaheke Region of eastern Namibia, just over an hour's drive south-east of Gobabis (white pindrop). The small town which prides itself as the country's cattle capital due to the high density of cattle farms in the area. There are petrol stations, supermarkets and restaurants. It's a good place to refuel and stock up if you need to.
The farm is also not far from Buitepos (blue pindrop), the border post to Botswana, making Rhino Ridge the perfect stop on an adventurous road trip through Southern Africa.
If you are travelling from Windhoek (brown pindrop), you will need about three to four hours by car to reach Rhino Ridge, following the tarred B6 before turning onto a gravel road that will take you to your destination (about 300km in total).
We will provide you with GPS details after booking. Please note that Rhino Ridge is only accessible by 4x4 as the last part of the drive and the farm itself is over rocky and sandy terrain.
